1 Hotel Hanalei Bay Donates $3,000 to Support the Kīlauea School Nature Center

In celebration of Earth Month, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay has donated $3,000 to Kīlauea School PTSA to support the Kīlauea School Nature Center. This donation will more directly will fund the creation of curriculum, an essential piece that will restart education in the Nature Center.

This nature center rehabilitation will mean students will learn hands on, Aina-based lessons as part of their education. Kīlauea PTSA with this new support from 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is happy to support local students, culture, and the environment.

With the objective of promoting locally relevant and experiential learning through consistent and active engagement with the natural environment, the Kīlauea School Nature Center Restoration & Revival Project will highlight indigenous and traditional knowledge, increase environmental literacy, build climate science competencies, help students understand the relationship between nature and society, and ultimately empower them to meaningfully participate in the protection of ecosystems and the development of sustainable and equitable communities.
